The provincial election starts tomorrow! This is our opportunity to advocate for team-based primary care in Ontario to all candidates, and to ask they commit to investing in it if elected. To do that, they need to hear from you and understand its local value. Advocacy tools will be on our website to help you with outreach. All tools will be posted here within the next day or two. The following will be posted shortly:
You’ll also receive a few hard copies in the mail next week, but we encourage you start outreach now as elections are not long. Let’s use these resources and your knowledge of the value of team-based primary care and the work you do to advocate for expansions and investments. The campaign starts tomorrow, and Election Day is June 7. Let’s start campaigning! |

Invitation to Participate: Gallagher’s 2018 Canadian Benefits Strategy & Benchmarking Survey AFHTO has partnered with Gallagher to offer our members the opportunity to participate in a national benefits strategy and benchmarking survey specifically for Canadian employers. The topics covered in the survey are benefits plans, retirement plans, wellness offerings, paid time off and premium-sharing arrangements. By participating in this survey, you’ll receive your report comparing your responses to those of other employers across Canada. Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care news Situation report on opioid crisis: situation report #30 now available. This will be the last Opioid Situation Report until after the election. Ontario Naloxone Program expanded to hospitals: effective April 23, 2018, the Ontario Naloxone Program (ONP) was expanded to include all 178 Ontario hospitals with an emergency department or urgent care centre. Smoke Free Ontario Strategy now launched: includes e-cigarettes and heat-not-burn products, and the smoking and vaping of medical cannabis as well. See introduction and report for further details. |
