Beyond the Eckler Report: Building Our Advocacy Efforts Together

Hello EDs and Admin leads,

In our ongoing commitment to supporting team-based care and advocating for our members, we recognize the critical role your experiences play in shaping our efforts. Your insights are crucial for driving these advocacy efforts forward, and we invite you to participate in our Expanded Membership Survey to help us better understand the complexities of our evolving healthcare landscape, and the challenges you face. To ensure your efforts aren’t needlessly duplicated, all relevant data will also be used to pre-populate your upcoming member renewal form.

1. Elevating Eckler Compensation Report Data: The survey data will play a pivotal role in taking the Eckler compensation report data to the next level. Your contributions will provide a strong quantitative foundation, enhancing our ability to advocate for a vetted compensation request with the Ministry of Health on behalf of AFHTO members. By understanding staffing challenges and recruitment needs, we can advocate more effectively for resources that align with the evolving demands of our membership.

2. Interprofessional Healthcare Provider Data: Your input is crucial in providing us with essential data on interprofessional healthcare providers. This information is key to quantifying the Health Human Resources (HHR) needs and evaluating the potential impact of team composition on unattached patient rates within our province and your communities.

3. Operational Insights: Your responses will offer invaluable operational insights. This understanding is instrumental in quantifying ongoing funding pressures and identifying the challenges and successes of day-to-day team operations.

The survey should take between 30-45 minutes to complete, depending on data availability. You are encouraged to complete the survey in sections spread across several hours/days. The deadline to complete the survey is Feb. 27, 2024.

Only aggregated data will be shared with select external stakeholders and you may request the opportunity to discuss your data with AFHTO. For instance, you may wish to compare and discuss with a group of teams at a regional-level, and AFHTO will support this.

Your participation in this survey is not just a survey response; it’s a powerful voice in shaping the future of team-based primary care and the healthcare landscape we navigate together. We appreciate your time and dedication to this shared endeavour.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Sincerely,

Your AFHTO Team
