Free workplace mental health training series
CMHA Ontario’s Your Health Space program is launching a FREE, virtual series on mental health literacy and workplace stress management for health care workers. It consists of three courses, which are divided into self-directed modules and live skill-building sessions facilitated by a Your Health Space trainer.
This 12-week series begins next Tuesday, September 5th and is open to anyone in Ontario’s health care workforce. Upon completion of each course, participants will receive a digital Certificate of Completion that can be added to your online professional profiles. You can learn more and register here.

Call for abstracts for 2024 Family Medicine Summit
In 2024, 2024 Family Medicine Summit will be presented virtually, including live-stream days on January 26 and 27. The Ontario College of Family Physicians (OCFP) has sent out a call for abstracts. Deadline Sep. 22, 2023.
First Canadian stakeholder consensus for diagnosis, appropriate referral, and treatment of asthma
In 2022 Asthma Canada was part of a steering committee for a study that included participation from more than 150 certified respiratory educators, respirologists, allergists, general practitioners, family physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and respiratory therapists from across Canada. It laid out a path for high-quality respiratory care for Canadians.
“Recommendations from a Canadian Delphi consensus study on best practice for optimal referral and appropriate management of severe asthma” was published February 2023 and includes a recommendation for an enhanced role for Certified Respiratory Educators (CREs), who can support the primary care system and provide team-based care, in improving chronic disease management for patients.
