Bits & Pieces: election advocacy tools, member news, #Yesthisisnursing & more

Your Weekly News & Updates

The provincial election starts tomorrow!

This is our opportunity to advocate for team-based primary care in Ontario to all candidates, and to ask they commit to investing in it if elected. To do that, they need to hear from you and understand its local value.

Advocacy tools will be on our website to help you with outreach. All tools will be posted here within the next day or two.

The following will be posted shortly:

  • AFHTO’s advocacy brochure
  • Slide deck outlining AFHTO’s asks
  • Tips and templates for meetings
  • Candidates’ names in each riding
  • The slide deck and presentation from the recent webinar: “Preparing for Ontario’s 2018 Election”

You’ll also receive a few hard copies in the mail next week, but we encourage you start outreach now as elections are not long.

Let’s use these resources and your knowledge of the value of team-based primary care and the work you do to advocate for expansions and investments. The campaign starts tomorrow, and Election Day is June 7. Let’s start campaigning!

Invitation to Participate: Gallagher’s 2018 Canadian Benefits Strategy & Benchmarking Survey

AFHTO has partnered with Gallagher to offer our members the opportunity to participate in a national benefits strategy and benchmarking survey specifically for Canadian employers. The topics covered in the survey are benefits plans, retirement plans, wellness offerings, paid time off and premium-sharing arrangements.

By participating in this survey, you’ll receive your report comparing your responses to those of other employers across Canada. If there are enough responses from AFHTO, AOHC and AMHO members, Gallagher will also be able to provide a report specific to responses received from the membership. See full details here.
