Webinar – Compensation Campaign Phase 2: Getting to the 2012 Rates
Wednesday, January 25, 2017 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
AFHTO, along with AOHC and NPAO, continues to call on the Ontario government to support primary health care interprofessional teams by investing an additional $130 million annually to bring our team members to the 2012 recommended wage rates.
For the Ministry to achieve its ambitious health system transformation goals outlined in the Patients First Act, the government needs to focus on strengthening primary care as the foundation. This means supporting teams in their ongoing challenge to recruit and retain qualified healthcare providers who provide exceptional primary care to their patients and communities.
A number of our member FHTs and NPLCs have sent letters to their MPPs and the Minister expressing their disappointment and anger about the funding amounts they received but are now looking at what else can be done to address this long-standing wage inequity in primary care.
To address the next steps question, we will be holding a webinar on Wednesday, January 25th from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm to talk about some of the strategies being deployed in Phase 2 of the compensation campaign.
In order to ensure this campaign has huge impact with the Ministry, please invite all members of your team to attend so they can also learn what they can do as an individual in this next phase of advocacy. For those who can’t attend, a recording will be posted on our site shortly after.
As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us at any time. Additional Resources:
