Social Prescribing in Ontario April 3

Clinicians are caring for people with increased food and housing insecurity, isolation, and loneliness, and declines in mental health and at the same time, are often left unprepared and unsupported in addressing social needs.

This fireside discussion will unpack the global conversation on social prescribing and how it can apply to practice in Ontario. Social Prescribing brings together the social and medical models of health, allowing us opportunities to care for people in a more careful and caring way by shifting the lens from “What’s the matter with you?” to “What matters to you?” At last year’s Family Medicine Forum, social prescribing was voted in the top two “Big Ideas” that would change the future of family practice.

Join us as we will explore how this global concept makes a big difference in diverse Ontario practice settings. Along the way, we will share practical ways to identify and address social needs within the clinical setting through social prescribing. Register here.

As such, this newsletter will switch to biweekly for a short while. We will continue to provide any urgent and/or important updates for members as needed and in a timely manner.
