Farewell to Connor Kemp

It is with genuinely mixed feelings we announce that Connor Kemp will be leaving AFHTO for a new role with an OHT.

Connor has been with AFHTO for nearly a year as our Project Manager and KTE Specialist. So many of you had the pleasure of working with him, attending the QIDSS meetings or webinars he has organized. He has also helped AFHTO with our growing research portfolio.

We’re going to miss Connor but know he will bring so much to but know he will bring so much to his new team. Please join us in giving him our sincerest best wishes. His last day with AFHTO will be Friday, February 16th – any questions related to his work can be directed to info@afhto.ca.

Strategic planning – update

AFHTO is happy to announce that we have hired EnterpriseHealth to support the development of a new strategic plan, which will guide our organization over the next three to five years.  As part of this process, we will be looking for member input. Please stay tuned for information about how you can get involved in the strategic planning process.

Provider experience study: primary care for individuals with serious mental illness (PriSMI)

Led by Agnes Grudniewicz at the University of Ottawa, PriSMI is a CIHR-funded research program about the role of primary care in managing chronic illness among people living with serious mental illness (SMI). People with SMI often experience barriers to care, and understanding how primary care services are provided to them may help reduce avoidable hospitalizations and deaths. For the provider interview study, the PriSMI team is looking for family physicians and primary care nurse practitioners to describe their experiences caring for people living with SMI. Participants will receive a $120 honorarium for a 60-minute interview. Interested? Please check your eligibility here. For more information, contact erandall@uottawa.ca.
