Update – Market Salary Review
Let me open with my sincere apologies for the delay in delivering the much-anticipated “Ontario Community Health Compensation Market Salary Review Report.” Communication on the status and delivery date is long overdue, and I am sorry for this. AFHTO staff continues to be an active member of the Steering Committee; working with nine other organizations – a very large Steering Committee – to get this report over the finish line has been positive, collaborative, and has presented situations that are unique.
On October 4, the Steering Committee met with representatives from Eckler, the third-party consultant, to discuss the final elements of the project. Eckler assured us that the report will accurately capture the current challenges surrounding recruitment and retention in our sector; however, they were unable to confirm a delivery date for the final product. Eckler has subsequently delivered a final draft for review by the Steering Committee who has also begun work with a government relations firm to plan how the report and its findings will be presented to government – the goal, of course, is to maximize impact.
AFHTO will release the final report to our members, as promised, and will host a briefing with ample question-and-answer time.
I thank you for your patience and understanding.
