Breaking Free- free, 24/7, substance use support for Ontarians
Ontarians 16+ living with substance use challenges can access free online support through ‘Breaking Free’, a self-paced, evidence-based well-being and recovery program. Breaking Free aims to help people to reduce or stop the use of more than 70 substances, including opioids, and is available in both English and French.
Signing up through BreakingFreeOnline.com is easy and confidential – just a postal code is needed. If you wish to share information about Breaking Free, implementation, training and promotional resources are available on the program’s website.
Upgrades to Ontario Business Registry allow non-profits better access to corporate records
The Ontario Business Registry (OBR) now allows non-profits incorporated under Ontario law to access a complete package of their historical corporate records held by the Ministry (including letters patent, supplementary letters patent, and profile reports) at a low cost. Previously, non-profits had to work through a third-party provider which could add fees of hundreds of dollars. To use this new feature, organizations will need a CompanyKey.
Seeking physicians for CANHEART Improving Cholesterol Management Study
Researchers at The Knowledge Translation (KT) Program at St. Michael’s Hospital and Women’s College Hospital are collaborating on a study called the “CANHEART Improving Cholesterol Management Study” to improve lipid management and cardiovascular health in Ontario.
The Community Heart Outcomes Improvement and Cholesterol Education Study (CHOICES) is being conducted in certain health regions in Ontario with higher-than-average rates of cardiovascular disease.
They’re recruiting physicians to complete a brief 10-minute survey assessing their insights on lipid management practices and the CHOICES materials. For more information, please see their flyer. If you’re interested, please complete the survey here.
