Guidance for Ontario Health Teams: Collaborative Decision-Making Arrangements for a Connected Health Care System was released by the Ministry of Health in July 2020.
OHT collaborative decision-making arrangements are to be self-determined by members and fit for purpose. As noted in the document:
- All approved OHTs must establish and document a collaborative decision-making arrangement between members.
- To be eligible for any future OHT implementation funding opportunities, OHTs will be required to demonstrate they have established a collaborative decision-making arrangement between members addressing, at minimum, the OHT’s use of any implementation funding.
- A checklist is provided at the end of the document, and more information about potential funding opportunities will be provided separately.
- OHTs’ collaborative decision-making arrangements are expected to evolve over time as OHTs mature.
Four agreement templates have been posted on the RISE site for OHTs to assist teams. These have been provided by Bordner Ladner Gervais LLP and may be used at an OHT’s discretion:
- Collaboration Agreement
- Decision-Making Framework Agreement
- Fund Holder and Indemnity Agreement
- Project Agreement
