Early bird deadline for the 2018 conference is Oct. 1

There’s now less than one week to register at the early bird rate for the AFHTO 2018 conference! If you register with your membership access code, members’ discounted pricing is automatically applied so you pay $350 for the full conference instead of $700!

Dr. Kevin Samson, East Wellington FHT and Dr. Alan McLean, Superior FHT, at the Quality Steering Committee meeting on Sep.14. Both also play an active role in the conference. Dr. Samson will lead the Telus session and Dr. McLean is an AFHTO board member.

Discount available for AFHTO members on board self-assessment tool

The Governance Centre of Excellence (GCE) periodically offers a board self-assessment tool. This is an online questionnaire that takes about 20 minutes to complete and is followed by a summary report that can be distributed to all board members.

Although there’s a $450 fee for the tool, AFHTO members can get a $150 discount for a fee of $300 IF 10 or more teams are interested. Please contact Bryn Hamilton if you’d like to participate. The 2018 fall assessment questionnaire is available from September 3, 2018, to December 3, 2018. Find out more here.

Toolkit for e-Mental Health Implementation

The Mental Health Commission of Canada has launched the Toolkit for e-Mental Health Implementation, a joint effort of the Centre for Research in Family Health, IWK Health Centre and the MHCC, in consultation with stakeholders. Mental health professionals can use it to help implement such innovations as telehealth, mental health apps, and messaging-based services. Download the toolkit here.
