New Skills-Based Board Toolkit for FHTs & NPLCs
AFHTO is pleased to introduce our Skills-Based Board Toolkit for FHTs and NPLCs. The toolkit provides an overview of current thinking about Board skills and skills-based Boards as well as practical tools and tips for enhancing the skills capacity of any Board.It’s intended to:

  • Support teams in meeting the new FHT contract requirement
  • Be of use by those FHTs that already meet the Board skills requirements of the new contract
  • Support NPLCs in considering the skills and composition of their Boards.

Working groups are being set up for each of the six concurrent streams and for the Bright Lights Awards program. The six concurrent streams will focus on:

  1. Mental health and addictions
  2. Healthy relationships, healthy teams
  3. Expanding your reach
  4. The “How to” stream
  5. Why hasn’t this expanded: scalable pilot programs
  6. The future of the regional approach to healthcare

Applications open for free professional development opportunity: Project ECHO at CAMH and University of Toronto
ECHO Ontario Mental Health at CAMH and the University of Toronto is a ‘Hub’ and ‘Spoke’ model of knowledge dissemination and capacity building, which aims to exchange knowledge between academic health science centres and healthcare providers using easy videoconferencing technology. New programs launching this Spring include Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and Trans and Gender Diverse Healthcare. Visit the website to learn more
Advanced Clinical Practice Fellowship Request for Proposals
The Advanced Clinical Practice Fellowship (ACPF) program provides RNs and NPs the opportunity to have a focused, self-directed learning experience to develop clinical, leadership or best practice guideline implementation knowledge and skills, with support from a mentor(s), the organization where the RN/NP is employed, and RNAO.A new request for proposals has been issued for a new round of fellowships that can occur any time during the period of September 4, 2018 – February 1, 2019. Deadline to Notify RNAO of Intention to Submit a Proposal is May 4, 2018.
