Applications for the IHP Advisory Council now open

Are you interested in advising AFHTO of the top issues facing IHPs in team-based primary care? Would you like to be a leader in working with IHPs to advocate for and to speak to the critical role of teams, as well as recruitment and retention of providers in primary care? Would you like to share and spread knowledge and learnings?

If yes, AFHTO invites you to apply to join the IHP Advisory Council! The council was established in 2018, and several two-year terms are now open.

This council provides input on IHP-related matters, gives advice and input to the AFHTO board and staff on AFHTO and primary care priorities, and fosters leadership across the IHP community in teams. Meetings are quarterly, and AFHTO occasionally reaches out for input, advice, and guidance between meetings.

To apply, please complete this application: 2025 Application for AFHTO’s IHP Advisory Council Survey. The deadline to apply is Friday, January 24, 2025, at 11:59 PM.

More details are available here.

Registration with CPSO now open for Ontario physician assistantsA group of smiling people in white coats. Text saysCPSO to regulate PAs

“As you’ve likely heard by now, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) will become the regulator for all physician assistants (PAs) in Ontario as of April 1, 2025. The registration period for PAs to become registrants with CPSO is now open.

Reminder: Ontario PAs must be registered with CPSO by April 1 to continue practising with the title of “physician assistant” in the province.

To begin the registration process, PAs should visit the New Applicant Account Creation page on CPSO’s website. We strongly advise you begin the process as early as possible to ensure you have sufficient time to gather and submit all required documentation.

To learn more about what being regulated under CPSO will entail, visit the Physician Assistants section of CPSO’s website, which includes helpful FAQs around registration, delegation, and more.

We also encourage you to subscribe to CPSO’s Dialogue publication, where you’ll receive regular updates from CPSO. You can do so by visiting the Subscribe to Dialogue page. Ontario PAs will automatically receive new issues of Dialogue once they become CPSO registrants.

For any questions, you can email CPSO’s registration team at inquiries@cpso.on.ca
