Dear AFHTO members and collaborators,
I want to personally thank our members in attendance at our annual conference Oct 23 – 25 for a warm welcome in my first week as AFHTO’s new CEO. I deeply appreciate the honesty and openness from which you shared your experience and perspectives. I am grateful to have had the chance right off the bat to be immersed in the issues and start building relationships with our members and collaborators. While my learning and introductions are just getting started, the conference has allowed me to better appreciate your needs and where AFHTO needs to step up. Our new strategic plan, launched at the conference, gives us the guideposts we need to plan for the immediate future as well as ensuring we do not lose sight of:
- Our Mission: Provide equitable access to excellent team-based care for every person in Ontario
- Our Purpose: Empower primary care teams to be at the centre of a connected, comprehensive and effective health system
