Nominations to the AFHTO Board of Directors are open until August 1, 2024
Are you interested in serving on the AFHTO board of directors? The Governance Committee of AFHTO’s board invites anyone who works within an AFHTO member organization to apply. Please share this call for nominations with all who work in your team and with members on your Board.
No prior experience as a Board Director is required. The AFHTO Board of Directors provides orientation, training and ongoing support to board directors. The Board counts on you using the skills you bring to the Board and will support your learning about governance and the role of the Board.
Three to six (3-6) positions are to be elected for a 3-year term on the AFHTO board. The AFHTO by-law calls for balanced representation on the board to include the various forms of governance, the regions of the province, and the mix of the professions/individuals working within FHTs, NPLCs and other interprofessional models of primary care. Visit our site for more information.
Ontario consulting on expanding role of nurse practitioners
“The Ontario government is starting consultations with the College of Nurses of Ontario and other health care partners on expanding the scope of practice for nurse practitioners. Allowing nurse practitioners to better use their training, skills and education will help Ontarians connect to more convenient care and help free up more time for physicians to spend caring for patients with more complicated needs.” Find out more about the proposed changes here.
